Note to Moderator

Dear Moderator,
 As part of my A2 coursework I was asked to produce a promotional package  for a music artisit of my choice. This included a music video and two ancillary tasks. The song that I chose was 'In Too Deep' by Sum 41. I produced the main video with Jarrod McTeggart and Jamie Dyer. I produced the two ancillary tasks by myself.

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

In this question I am going to discuss what technology I used and how it helped. I will also look at how the technology caused problems and how I could have over come these problems. I will discuss in detail the pros and cons of all the equipment that I used, and what equipment I would use again and what I would change.

What have you learned from your audience feedback?

In this question I will look at how the audience decides how successful a video is, I will look at different videos to compare and contrast against each other. I will look at the audience feedback that I have recieved and discuss how this can improve my products. I will also do this for positive feedback, so that I can see if my products fit into the correct genre. For this question I will use powtoon.

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary texts? 

In this I will show pictures of my products, as well as discussing why I have picked my house style. And why it is important to actually have a style, I will back this up with screen shots of existing forms of media. I am also going to look at the image that has been created for the band, this will include looking at colours used and imagery. I will ask members of my target audience to evaluate my video and my ancillary's.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

For this question I am going to discus what conventions already exist for the pop rock genre. Then i will compare my music video to these conventions, commenting on how/why I have used certain ones and how/why I have challenged others.  I will then do the same but for my digipak and poster. This will help to show what are the important conventions and which conventions need to be challenged in order for a music video. For each separate task I will look at how successful my products were at attracting audiences and how they could be improved. I will use screen shots of my products and real existing media products to help with the comparison.
